Why Orza

Get more from the battery you already have.

Most batteries run a routine set once. Orza plans yours every half hour around your prices, your sun and your home. It’s free, there’s nothing to install, and you see what it would have saved before it touches your battery.

A day with Orza

It does the sums, so you don’t.

A real plan for one day in the demo home: a 10 kWh battery with 4 kWp of solar, on a price that changes every half hour.

What planning is worth

£260 a year more than self use. £185 more than a routine set by hand.

The same 9.5 kWh battery and 4 kWp of panels in 20 homes, through a full year on Agile. Orza came out ahead of the routine in all 20 homes.

How the plan is built

It only cycles your battery when the gap pays for the loss and the wear.

Chasing every small dip wears a battery for pennies. Every half hour, Orza plans the next 36 hours with these three in it.

  • 82.1%Real losses, not datasheet figuresWhat a real battery gave back at the inverter. Cheap power is bought only when the peak pays for the loss. How efficient is a home battery?
  • 1pA kWh for wearA move has to save more than that to be made. It gave up at most £5 a year on any tariff. What that means for your warranty
  • 10 daysYour own roof’s sunThe forecast is scaled to what your panels really made over the last ten days, so the plan leaves the right room for the sun.
Proof on your own battery

Start in Monitor only. See if it beats what you use now.

Every home starts in Monitor only. Orza plans alongside whatever runs your battery today and sends it nothing. Savings then shows, day by day, what your battery really cost against Orza’s plan.

  • Never with hindsightEach half hour is judged on what Orza knew at the time, from your own readings.
  • Losing days in redA day your battery beat Orza shows in red, never averaged away.
  • Four modes, one clickMonitor only, Assisted, Automatic control or Paused. Handing back is never blocked.
  • Your battery never relies on OrzaYour reserve and its own limits always win, and it runs on its own settings whenever Orza isn’t sending.

Automatic control is built and not switched on yet: each make’s page says where it stands. How control and your login are kept safe

Independent

Made for your bill and nobody else’s.

  • Not a battery maker or a supplier, so the plan is for your bill alone.
  • Change supplier or tariff, and the plan carries on.
  • Free, with no card. Paid tiers will come later, and there will always be a free version.
  • Your readings are never sold and never used for advertising.
