Orza for Sigenergy

Your Sigenergy, planned every half hour.

Orza reads your Sigenergy through the same cloud the mySigen app uses, and decides what the battery should do each half hour from your tariff’s prices, your roof’s sun and how your home uses power. Every decision comes with its reason.

Connecting a Sigenergy

Signed in with your mySigen login. Nothing to install.

Orza reaches your Sigenergy the way the mySigen app does, through Sigenergy’s cloud. No hub, no box and nothing on your home network.

  1. Sign in with your mySigen loginThe email and password you use in the mySigen app. They are encrypted before they are stored, and only Orza’s server can open them.
  2. Check the first readingOrza shows the battery’s charge and what the house is using, and asks whether that matches mySigen.
  3. Sigenergy fills in the restYour battery’s size and your panels are read from Sigenergy, and the last four weeks of readings come in by themselves.
  4. Add your supplierOctopus connects with an API key. For the others you enter your tariff. The first plan follows soon after.
What Orza reads

What Sigenergy’s cloud reports, and nothing made up.

Every figure Orza shows about your battery comes from Sigenergy’s cloud or from you. This is what it reads.

  • Every five minutesSolar, home use, grid import and export, battery power and the battery’s charge. Sigenergy’s cloud allows one reading every five minutes for each system, so that is how often Orza reads.
  • Your system’s own detailsThe battery’s size, the total size of your panels, and the street and postcode the system is registered at, so setup asks you for less.
  • The last four weeksRead back when you connect, so Orza knows how your home uses power from the first day, not after weeks of learning it.
  • Each finished day, againWhen a day is over Orza reads it once more from Sigenergy’s own history, which is fuller than the five-minute readings, and totals the day from that.
  • What Sigenergy does not sendBattery temperature, state of health, alarms and the detail of each battery module are not in Sigenergy’s cloud. Orza shows them as not reported. It never fills them in.
What Orza does with it

A plan for the next 36 hours, remade every half hour.

Orza works out a schedule for your Sigenergy: when it should charge, hold its charge and run the house, across every half hour it can see at once. Each decision comes with the reason beside it, and Savings shows what the plan would have cost against what your battery really did.

What the plan is made from

  • Your tariff’s pricesOctopus connects with an API key, so your tariff’s prices arrive by themselves, half-hourly ones such as Agile’s included. For British Gas, OVO, E.ON Next, EDF and ScottishPower you enter your tariff.
  • Your roof’s sunWhat your roof really made at the same times over the last few days, checked against the forecast.
  • Your homeHow much the home uses and when it is busiest, learned from its own readings.
  • Your battery’s real lossesWhat your Sigenergy loses between charging and discharging is measured from its own history. The plan only moves energy through the battery when the price difference pays for that loss.
How the saving is measured
You stay in control

Start by watching. Hand over when you’re ready.

Every home starts in Monitor only, so you can see what Orza would have done with your Sigenergy before it does anything.

  • Monitor onlyRead-only. Orza works out what its plan would have saved and sends nothing.
  • AssistedOrza’s plan as advice every half hour. You decide what the battery does.
  • Automatic controlOrza sends its plan to your battery through Sigenergy’s cloud. Hand control back any time.
  • PausedOrza stops planning, and your battery follows its own settings.
Questions

Before you connect your Sigenergy.

The short answers. The technical FAQ covers how the connection works, how the plan is built and how the saving is scored.

Read the technical FAQ
Does Orza replace the mySigen app?

No. Keep mySigen for warranty registration, firmware updates and safety alerts. Orza sits alongside it as the plan, reaching your system through the same cloud mySigen uses.

Is Orza a smart scheduler for my Sigenergy?

Yes. Every half hour Orza works out a schedule for your Sigenergy: when to charge from the grid, when to hold and when to run the house, from your tariff’s prices, the forecast for your roof and how your home uses power. It gives the reason for each half hour, and remakes the schedule when new prices are published.

I already use Sigen AI Mode. What does Orza add?

You can find out without changing anything. In Monitor only Orza sends nothing to your battery. It plans alongside it, and Savings shows, day by day, what its plan would have cost against what your battery really did in the mode you run it in, including the days Orza’s plan lost. Orza is also independent of your battery’s maker and your supplier, and it gives the reason for every half hour’s decision.

Which Sigenergy systems does it work with?

Orza signs in with your mySigen login and reads the Sigenergy system it finds there, such as a SigenStor. If the login covers more than one system, you choose which. The first reading has to add up before anything is stored, and Orza shows it to you to check against mySigen.

Which tariffs does it plan around?

Octopus, British Gas, OVO, E.ON Next, EDF and ScottishPower tariffs, including dynamic and time of use tariffs for import and export. A plan is worth most on a dynamic tariff such as Octopus Agile, where the price changes every half hour.

What happens if my internet or Sigenergy’s cloud goes down?

Your battery carries on under its own settings. Orza is never in the power path. The half hours it couldn’t read are shown as missing, and left out of your savings rather than guessed.

What does it cost?

Nothing during the beta. No card is needed to join.
